Illustrative Brand Identity
“Kid On My Hip” is a woman owned and motherhood based business which shares ideas pertaining to both the adventures of motherhood and creating a wholesome family environment. I was asked to create a unique and fun illustrative logo to portray the adventures of being a stay-at-home wife and mother. After sketching out the initial design, I custom created this graphic in Adobe Illustrator to be unique to my client and her story.
Main logo to be used on website, promotional materials, etc.
Text only to be used for social media, icons, etc.
Illustration only to be used as icon, business card and promotional uses.
Brand Design Process
I started my design process with my trusted sketchbook and pencil. I sketched a bunch of thumbnails until I was satisfied with one that fit the description of the brand. After making a larger, yet still rough sketch I took a photo and imported my image into Adobe Illustrator where I started digital illustration. Once the illustration was complete I found a complementary typeface to use for the text and customized it to be a little more whimsical and fun.
